Relocating from San Jose to West Seattle, these homeowners were drawn to the property's stunning water views and saw an opportunity to reimagine the home around gathering, entertaining, and everyday connection to the outdoors. The remodel focused on creating an open, welcoming layout that better supports their lifestyle while celebrating the home's unique setting.

A series of architectural updates strengthen the relationship between the interior and exterior spaces. The existing deck was expanded to create more room for outdoor dining and relaxation, while a large sliding glass door seamlessly connects the dining area to the deck beyond. In the kitchen, a generous awning window and continuous countertop extend the experience outdoors, allowing views, light, and fresh air to become part of daily life. The lower level was also reconfigured to include an accessory dwelling unit, providing flexible accommodations for guests or potential rental income.

Throughout the home, natural materials and carefully considered details create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere inspired by the owners' love of mid-century design. White oak cabinetry and shelving, oak ceiling beams, black hardware, and warm decorative lighting bring character and warmth to the renovated spaces. The result is a home that feels open, comfortable, and deeply connected to its surroundings, making the most of both the views and the lifestyle that drew the family to Seattle.
