Shelly Liwag’s path into interior design began with a lifelong appreciation for art, architecture, and the emotional impact of thoughtfully designed spaces. Originally from Kodiak, Alaska, she later moved to Anchorage, where she earned a degree in early childhood education and worked as a preschool teacher before making the leap to Seattle to pursue a more creative path. After discovering Bellevue College’s Interior Design program, she realized interior design was the perfect blend of art, storytelling, and problem-solving.

Inspired by designers such as Zaha Hadid, Thomas Heatherwick, Tadao Ando, Noz Nozawa, and Kelly Wreastler, Shelly is drawn to interiors that feel immersive, intentional, and emotionally resonant. She enjoys balancing beauty and functionality to create spaces that evoke comfort, curiosity, and connection.

Outside of the studio, Shelly enjoys hiking, going to music shows, and quiet weekends at home with her two cuddly cats, Sophie and Toji, and her German Shepherd, Salvador Dali.
