Harbor Flats is a 114-unit multi-family development nestled into a steep hillside in West Seattle, offering panoramic views of the water and easy access to public transit and recreation. Our branding approach was designed to complement the architecture while capturing the building’s youthful energy and vibrant sense of place. Rooted in its waterfront location, the brand draws inspiration from the sweeping views seen from the rooftop deck and the relaxed, beachy lifestyle of nearby Alki. Color plays a central role—each of the five floors is assigned a distinct hue, creating a vertical gradient that moves from ocean blues at the base to warm sunset tones above, reflecting a journey from sea to sky. Clean neutrals in black and white keep the palette grounded.
A flexible, responsive logo system was developed to extend across all physical and digital touchpoints, from signage and environmental graphics to leasing and marketing materials. Paired with the interior design team’s curated furnishings and finishes in public spaces, the brand creates a cohesive, modern atmosphere that appeals to a new generation of urban renters seeking connection, comfort, and community.
To round out the full branding style, black and white photography of the beach and water of the Alki region is used for bold, graphic murals that also act as wayfinding signage for the elevator lobbies. The floor-to-ceiling graphic numbers pull from the brand color palette and correspond to the floor numbers. In addition the door signs for each unit follow the oval shape and the floor color, pairing acrylic with light wood.
