Shane Staley
Architect, Associate

Shane grew up near Chicago, where he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology. While in school, Shane took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in Europe and Japan, where he learned an appreciation for modernism and traditional hand workmanship. After gaining experience with a high-end residential firm in Chicago, Shane felt the need to work with his hands and practice a craft, so he went on to attend the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine to study solid wood furniture building. Shortly after, he moved to Seattle through a desire to connect with the outdoors and carve a new path.

Shane always keeps an eye on the small details in all of his projects. Whether it’s a bathroom remodel in an old house, a new restaurant design in an historic building, or a piece of fine furniture, he feels that good details make for good design.

Outside the office, he loves to have projects going at all times, from rebuilding his classic car to taking on a fun woodworking project, but he also makes time to go out hiking in the mountains and enjoy the PNW.
