Ballard Pizza Company Ballard, Seattle, WA Hospitality
Chef Ethan Stowell chose the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle for his foray into more casual dining. The design, layout, and materials selected reflect the gritty industrial history of Ballard. Anyone wanting to grab a slice of pizza can take it to go or opt to stand at the custom designed bar tables. We opted to use heavy materials with a modern interpretation, in order to create a space that would operate efficiently, while still feeling warm and inviting.
The muted colors and material palette allow the pizza to be the center of attention. This restaurant is intended to be the kind of place that is welcoming to all demographics. The closely spaced tables add to the camaraderie felt within the space.
The space itself was previously an art gallery, so we began by revealing as much of the existing structure as we could. From there, we added subtle layers of color and reclaimed material with the goal of celebrating the authentic and sometimes unexpected nature of the old brick and timber space.
