As a California native, Monita brings a personality full of sunshine to everything she touches. Her passion for interior design is fueled by the opportunity to infuse color, patterns, and beautifully designed details to projects from an intimate residence to a lively restaurant. For Monita, it’s all about making sure that everything works harmoniously together, and she loves “that small little details have such a large impact, down to the stitching color, trim details, the little things!”
While Monita’s inspirations are wide-ranging, she recalls the whimsical, ornate, and colorful details on the façade of the Victorian homes in her birthplace of San Francisco, along with being struck by the glamourous Art Deco style of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings of New York. Lastly, when she moved to Seattle in 2015, she fell in love with the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood, and the brick exteriors and arched windows that make the area feel unique. Her interest was piqued in a high school when her teacher would invite students on visits to contemporary furniture showrooms. She recalls the beautiful shapes, colors and how the space felt which fueled her inspiration towards a career in design.
