Greenlake, Seattle, WA
This charming craftsman was significantly expanded to the back and increased in height on the second floor while maintaining its modest, yet cheery frontage. By opening up the living room and dining area, the entire house feels more cohesive, making time at home a more enjoyable experience for all. The sophisticated colors of the living room keep it looking stylish without having to sacrifice a cozy atmosphere.
The open kitchen is adjacent to the family room, making it the focal point of the house. The warm and inviting environment coupled with plenty of seating options encourages social interaction. Small details in the newly remodeled kitchen, like the mosaic tile back splash personalize the design to the owners' tastes. White dominates the new kitchen, making this already well-lit space appear even brighter.
The mudroom was added to provide extra storage space, reduce clutter, and create a buffered connection between outdoors and in. Throughout the rest of the house, personal touches like guitar hooks on the wall and bold paint choices give each individual room its own character, while still fitting into the overall concept of the redesign.
