Finn Hill Remodel Kirkland, WA Residential
The original house turned its back on the most appealing feature - the amazing view and light. Where there was formally a flat ceiling and walls dividing the kitchen, dining, and living - there is now a vaulted ceiling and a more open great room style plan. This remodel for a couple who loves to entertain, takes advantage of the height previously relegated to the attic and celebrates a view everyone can now enjoy.
An industrial caliber cook called for a new industrial caliber kitchen. This kitchen needed to function well without being a distraction when exposed to the main living space. Stainless steel appliances, soapstone counter tops, and painted white cabinets help create a functional yet enjoyable space. The angled form of the bar reflects that of the nearby entryway, but also serves as a barrier to help keep well-intentioned guests out of the way of the chef. The butler's pantry beyond offers even more space to spread out the cooking while still maintaining a neat and tidy great room. Floor to ceiling storage, a sink, dishwasher, and work counter make this an extremely efficient butler's pantry
